The Hong Kong Trip (Day Four/The Last Day: Star Ferry and Shopping)

Yep!

The creepy baby is no more.

***********************

No trip to HK would be the same without a jaunt on the...

STAR FERRY!!

"The fleet of twelve ferries operates four routes across the harbour, carrying over 70,000 passengers a day/26 million a year.
Even though there are now other ways to cross the harbour (by MTR and road tunnels), the Star Ferry continues to provide an efficient, popular and inexpensive mode of crossing the harbour." - from Answers.com

Carla (me sis), Mako (me bro) and I have so many memories of riding the Star Ferry with Mom.

Tha's why I made it a point for Zachy and Cara to ride it too.

Plain old senti reasons.

:)

And hey!

It's still a mucho fun ride!!

***********************

Anyways, before we rode the Star Ferry.....

I was able to take a nice shot of the Ringring in a "sexy windswept" modelin' pose

Here's how you get on the Star Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central.

1) Climb up ye classic green stairs

2) Pay the HK$ 2.2 and cross the steel turnstiles.

3) Head down the downhill loading ramp durin' boarding time.

4) Watch out for the movin' boarding plank (yes -- it's hella movin') when going on the Star Ferry and wave hello to the sailor in the cute blue outfit.

5) VOILA! You're on the STAR FERRY!
BTW, don't forget to switch the bench backrest to the other side when ya sit down.

Then kick back and enjoy the ride!!

Hey! It's another Star Ferry!

***********************

We made a quick turn-around when we got to the other side coz' we had to catch up on a whole lotta shopping at Harbor City Mall before we left for the airport.

Zachy messed around with the hologram face thing over at Gigasports.

While Rose got a real cool white bag from Fila.

I got a nice black pair of well-needed Adidas shorts.

In case, ya didn't know -- it's called Harbor City Mall coz' giant cruise ships dock right beside it.

Jez like this one.

So after a few hours of shopping,
we headed back to the Prince to gather our stuff

and then took the super convenient Airport Express out of TST/Kowloon.

***********************

We weren't able to squeeze in a tour of the Tsing Ma Bridge during our trip.

(Even though we went over it like 6 times via the MTR to HK Disney and the Big Buddha.
It's mostly darkness when you cross the Tsing Ma Bridge via the MTR -- no super view of the channel or anything -- just a little clearing from right above.)

So I did my best to take a vid of the Tsing Ma bridge while riding inside of it via the Airport Express.

How pathetic.
That's one thing we're doing if ever we visit HK again.

C'mon mon.....
It's the 6th largest suspension bridge in the world (longer than the Golden Gate Bridge).
And it's the largest suspension bridge carrying road and rail traffic!!

Anyway, we finally made it to Chep Lap Kok International Airport.

Where Cara was "SUPERSTROLLERIZED".

Ya gotta tilt your head to the left for this one.

Hehehehehe!

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH HONG KONG!!

WE HAD SUCH AN AWESOME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE END.
